THE INDIGENOUS PEOPLES OF NEPAL:

The peoples with their own mother tongues, traditions, distinct cultural attributes, social structures and also who do have written or unwritten histories of profound significance in the country are designated by the Constitution and other laws of Nepal as the Aadibasi Janajatis or the Indigenous Peoples [IPs]of Nepal. The indigenous peoples [IPs] of Nepal admit that they do not categorically fall within the Hindu fourfold of Brahmin, Chhertiya, Vaishya and Shudra. These indigenous peoples rather believe they are Buddhists by their religious belief.

NEPAL-US INDIGENOUS PEOPLES' FORUM:

Founded on August 13, 2005 in Cambridge, Massachusetts,NEPAL-US INDIGENOUS PEOPLES'FORUM-NIP Forum,a non-profit corporation registered with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in the United States of America, is for peace, human rights, democracy and development in Nepal. One of the objectives of this forum is to assist Nepalese Indigenous Peoples [IPs] come forward to the national and international levels. This Forum works in favor of the Nepalese peoples including specifically the Nepalese IPs together with the international organizations also. This forum also endeavors to be an active entity for peaceful social transformation of Nepal. It extends its support to other IP Organizations in Nepal and within United States of America for social justice in the country. The detailed aims and objectives are provisioned in the Constitution of the organization.
